How we write and review content
These are the rules every article in our journal follows.
Who writes the articles: Articles are written by Dr Melanie Lambrechts or by [name and role of any other writer].
Medical review
Dr Mel medically reviews every article before it's published. Each article shows the date it was last reviewed.
How often we review
We review every article at least every 12 months, and sooner if the guidance it relies on changes.
Sources
We use clinical guidelines, peer-reviewed papers, and guidance from SAHPRA and the HPCSA. Each article lists its sources at the end.

Patient information
We never use patient information in an article. That includes photographs, stories and any detail that could identify someone.
Our use of AI
Software tools may help with transcription and with structuring a draft. Every article is written or edited, and approved, by a person.
